Digital Photo Printing
Up to this date, there still are people that do know exactly what digital arts mean. The entire complex of modern designs and computer arts, pixels and mega pixels, image colors and displays, make many people feel dizzy and hopelessly confused. Digital photography should include the photo printing form of computer edited images that are considered to meat the quality standard in order to be included in the digital arts category.
In a pure esthetic acceptation, the digital arts and its components, digital photo printing and editing, can not be discussed outside the context of the new media devices that make it possible. Digital art history is not yet written down completely. Even if, from a strictly chronological point of view, the first graphic materials produced on a computer are Ben Lpovsky’s oscillations, the digital arts actually emphasis computer tendencies that are specific to the 70s, when the thriving point of birth of digital photo printing registered.
In certain circles digitals arts are very appreciated and well paid for and digital designers have plenty galleries where they can show off their creations. Past art collection were made up of unique and original object and no copies were as valued as the original, regardless of the improvements they might’ve brought to the art object. The objects kept the thoughts of the artist within its shapes and colors, made the artist still breathe throughout its meaning. That’s why, when you are buying a piece of traditional art, you buy in a way a part of the artist’s body. In case of digital arts, the corporal component is missing. Maybe the fact that the artist does not create much, just a file on computer, has something to do with this. It can become an object, if printed on a material, in a format that can be decided by the artist or by the client. Printed paper does not work with lights as a computer does. The artist conceived his work on a computer screen, that can not be illuminated as a painting is, it, by definition, radiates light and does not reflect it. The digital photo printing process can change the object in such a way that it become unrecognizable, because after printing it will be transmuted in an environment that offers an outside source of light. Of course, the artist could make a few test prints of its design and see how it looks on paper, but that wouldn’t be art anymore, it would be commerce.
Because of this problem with lights, galleries also offer a digital copy when you purchase a design. Some galleries, besides the online ones, expose digital design only on computer screen and never printed, due to this light source problems that can only be understood when you see the two images one next to the other. print digital photos
